me want this

ooooh I am coveting this dress. Saw it on my way back from lunch. I chose to eat today rather than shop so I ran out of time, but I think I may go back tomorrow and try this on.....I dont even wanna know the price.

DAY EIGHT - One week down....

Its already been a week of dresses and I am having the most fun ever!! Im impressed that I haven't missed a day and my enthusiasm is growing. I find myself excited to get up and get dressed. Even though I wear some of these clothes every week, being able to share like this makes them all seem like brand new outfits again. And then posting the pics on FB if getting me all sorts of responses, and all of them have been so positive. Can I just say it, I feel pretty, oh so pretty.

So, here I am this morning. I woke up late so I didn't have time to wash my hair, so, pony-tail it is. But it works. Today I am wearing this Melissa Masse (almost) wrap dress. (Its kinda like a wrap dress got it on with a shirt dress) I love the collar and the colour! (altho, my co-worker pointed out that its the same colour as hospital scrubs....pffft! jealous?).

No heels for me today as I have to do a lot of running around today at work so I opted for flats. But, not just any flats..... Hells no! Check out these MARC by Marc Jacobs patent silver flats. Adorable shoes. Honestly they are so freakin' shiny that I could hold 'em up and use them as a mirror when I puts on my lippy.

Shoes and dress both from http://www.neimanmarcus.com/

So far I have been working with what I have in the ol' closet, but there are so many pretty dresses in the store windows right now that Im dying for somethin new.... perhaps I will spend my lunch hour shopping.

DAY SEVEN - Monday already?

Ugh, another Monday morning, and as my friend Andrew pointed out I look a little pissed off to even be awake, let alone pulling together another outfit for the 30 Days of Dresses. But, somehow I managed to gather my shit, and despite the grumpy face, I dont think I did too bad. I was vain enough to try a "glasses on" and a "glasses off" photo and so thats why Im still holding my glasses in this pic.

The breakdown: Today I am wearing my second favorite skirt from Gwen Stefani's line l.a.m.b. (I have 3). And altho I do love me some Gwen, her clothes are a bit price-y for this bargain shopper. I remember when I first saw this one at Holt Renfrew and I almost impulsively bought it at full price. And it would have been worth it too. Its green and beige and yellow plaid screams springtime and the lining is striped with the l.a.m.b. logo and the back is cut to show off my ass in the best possible light. Seriously, I love how my ass looks in her skirts. You cant really see it in this photo, but there is a kick-pleat in the back that gives it a total retro feel. Anyhow, I stalked this skirt and visited Holts once a week to see if it was still there. I watched as it was marked down and then finally it was put into final clearance and thats when I scooped it for 60% off a couple months after first spying it. I dont always have that kind of patience, but this time it totally paid off.

I dug around in my closet and found this blue v-neck sweater (altho I was wearing a strappy sundress yesterday, today its cold as ass again, hence the sweater. Gotta love Edmonton weather). Not sure where it came from originally, but its a good sweater in a pinch.

Finished it off with a little Michael Kors on my feet (oh these are the same as the black ones I wore the other day, except these are dark cherry, however, poor lighting really doesn't show them well) and I was out the door for another thrilling day at the office.

THE WEEKEND

So just another typical weekend....part sunny sundresses for lovely brunching and part zombie whore for Roller Derby.

First the sundress. I freakin' love this dress. Once again my wise and all knowing friend Tron gave me some good advice when she took me to Etzio (snazzy little store on Whyte Avenue) last summer for their super sensational sundress sale. I think this fabulous little number from Esprit set me back about $20. Its brown cotton and has removable straps. I could wear this everyday and be happy.

And the shoes......were a total find at Winners. Strappy orange leather wedges by Chinese Laundry.... C'mon! They're so bitchin and did I mention, they are orange!?! I was pretty stoked that it was nice enough today (actual sun for the entire day, how neat!) to pull off this little number. Also, just want to mention the necklace.... this was a treasure from my gramma. I was fortunate enough to receive a few of her fabulous pieces and this orange beaded one is probably my favorite.

And now for something completely different....
So I play Roller Derby for E-Ville here in Edmonton, AB and on Saturday night our team the E-Ville Dead played the Eves of Destruction from Victoria, BC in the EVE OF THE DEAD bout. Altho I wasn't playing in this game, I was selling raffle tickets and let me tell you, this little belt...er I mean skirt sold me a LOT of raffle tickets. Its incredible the power of fishnets and a mini! Add a little extra dark makeup, and jack the hair up to jesus and I was good to go.

From American Apparel for the green t-shirt, to LeChateau for the vest, the Bay for the fishnets, and Value Village for the fingerless gloves and headband, a Zombies gotta shop around (espcecially when you wanna look like a cute zombie) I managed to find this skirt the day of the game at one of those accessory stores for 12 year olds. Somehow I managed to get my 30(somethin) ass into it and worked the arena like a pro.

BTW.... The E-Ville Dead totally won!!
